African Fundraising Enablement Project (AfFEP)

How Might AfFEP Help Your Media Ministry?

The African Fundraising Enablement Project (AfFEP) is all about helping Christian media ministries across Africa to develop their own local supporter base.

Why are we so passionate about this? Because we know that when media ministries establish ongoing, local donor income streams by connecting with their audience, they are able to proclaim Christ with greater certainty and confidence, seeing many more lives touched and transformed with the Good News of Jesus, for the glory of our King!

We encourage you to watch this short video, to discover the passion behind this initiative, and how we might be able to help your ministry …

Who is Behind AfFEP?

AfFEP was established by ministry partners Reach Beyond (formerly known as HCJB) and Christianityworks (formerly known as Back to the Bible Australia). It is supported by a number of other Christian media ministries from around the globe.

What is AfFEP’s Purpose?

To help Christian radio stations and other media ministries across Africa to raise donations locally from their own audience, thereby developing a long-term, sustainable funding model.

How Does AfFEP Help?

By drawing alongside your team with fundraising training, advice, consulting and practical assistance in planning and executing a short, medium and longer term fundraising strategy.

N.B. AfFEP cannot donate money to your ministry, nor is it a conduit for bringing overseas funding into your organisation.

To the contrary. We bring passion, encouragement and practical expertise to help you develop your own local source of donor funding.

Who Can Apply for AfFEP Assistance?

We simply do not have the resources to help everyone. Therefore, we carefully select the ministry organisations with whom we will work.

We will consider helping not-for-profit, Christian media ministries who meet the following criteria:

  1. The ministry’s main purpose is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the media.
  2. Senior leadership is committed to developing a comprehensive approach to local fundraising.
  3. The ministry is honest, ethical and has a good reputation in its local community.
  4. The ministry is prepared, as part of the AfFEP package, to seeking AfCAA Fundraising Accreditation within 2 years of the commencement of the project (see afcaa.org).

This last point is extremely important. AfFEP is committed to an unashamedly ethical approach to Christian fundraising. Under the terms of our funding grant, we can only help ministries who will agree to work towards AfCAA Certification.
