1 Corinthians 15:33,34 Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits.” Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God. I say this to shame you.

I have to tell you that the Apostle Paul is my kind of guy. He’s blunt, he’s direct – he tells it the way it is. If we read what he wrote, we’ll never go to our grave wondering what he was thinking.

I relate a lot to that, because I’m that kind of guy too. Yeah, sometimes it rubs people the wrong way, but sometimes you just have to tell it the way it is. Today is one of those days.

If you’ve been able to join me over this last week, we’ve spent time in the Resurrection chapter of the Bible – 1 Corinthians 15. And it’s a great place to be, as Paul steps us through, telling us why we should believe in Christ’s resurrection, what actually happened and what it means for us now, and for eternity. And there’s more to come in the next few days.

But smack bang in the middle of it, he digresses with a short but blunt message that clearly, under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, he felt was important to share. Here it is:

1 Corinthians 15:33,34 Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits.” Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God. I say this to shame you.

I’ve never had the gumption to write to our ministry friends and supporters with the aim of shaming them. But there it is … in the Bible. Why? Well, in the context of this Resurrection chapter, Paul’s takes us on this sidebar to issue us with a stern word of warning. He’s saying, in effect, that if you (or I) keep on sinning, we’ll lose the promise of eternal life with Jesus.

The blunt message? Stop sinning!

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Thanks all for your words 4 today , Apostle Paul wants us to get to Heaven !
Yes it’s good to get to the point ! You’re either a believer or not ! Black or white , hot or cold , in or out , not pussyfooting around not to hurt someone’s feelings .
We need these stern warnings in the mess the world is getting it self into today .
Who is making the rules leading our loved ones astray !
We need the Good Shepherd to return !
“God’s will be done “ Amen 🙏 .
